Series: Wrong Man #2
Source: NetGalley, Publisher
Lance Townsend craves freedom after years living a structured existence in the Army. But just as he’s about to start on his bucket list, Lance receives an unexpected request: check in on his goddaughter. The problem? The adorable little girl’s aunt is the one woman he’s never been able to forget.
Carly Quigley can’t believe her brother’s best friend, the man who jilted her years ago, is at her door. He claims her brother asked him to check in on her niece and their fixer-upper, but all either of them can focus on is their undeniable attraction. Carly knows Lance is counting down the hours to leave, which makes him the wrong man for her. Unfortunately, the wrong man has become oh-so-tempting.
Each book in the Wrong Man series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.Series Order:Book #1 Kissing Mr. WrongBook #2 Tempting Mr. Wrong
This book was a light-hearted, easy read. Perfect for a lazy afternoon when you’re looking for a simple, sweet read to pass the time.
Carly and Lance had a real connection when they first met at Carly’s brother’s wedding. Carly wanted to take the connection further but Lance turned her down out of respect for her brother. Years later, Carly’s brother and wife are killed in an accident and Carly is now responsible for their daughter, Mya. Lance is left to fulfill his best friends last wishes to go check in on them and finish repairs on their house . Their connection is still strong and, despite Lance’s hesitation to give into it, it’s not long before they give into their mutual attraction. They both know that it’s temporary because Lance has dreams to fulfill and plans to leave. Soon enough Lance will have to choose between his plans and then girls who have stolen his heart.
The highlight of this story for me was Mya. She was adorable, smart and intuitive. The interactions between her and Carly and her and Lance always had me smiling, even the times when she almost broke my heart talking about her parents.
A perfect in-between angsty reads kind of book.
My favorite romances to read are friends to lovers, second chance romance, and lifelong love stories. I read mostly YA, NA and contemporary but I've been known to enjoy a good erotica romance now and again. I enjoy sex in books but it's not required for me to enjoy a story. Too much sex can be worse than none, in my opinion.
I don't really enjoy books with love triangles and/or cheating, and I don't read a lot of paranormal/fantasy or suspense books.
On any given day you'll find me camped out on my couch with my Kindle in one hand, a Mountain Dew in the other, the tv on in the background (Food Network or Hallmark Channel) with one or both of my kids and my husband trying to get me to answer them about when we might eat again.
