Dena’s Favorite Make-Up and Skincare Products: June 2017

I have been SUPER freaking obsessed with makeup products lately and what better way to shout it from the rooftops than blog about it right? I wanted to share my favorite make-up and skincare products I absolutely LOVED in June and a few I’ve loved for a little longer but they are just so fabulous that I had to still share for my first favorites post!! Let’s get started and I’ll tell you about each of these products!

Okay can we just look at these beautiful palettes for Summer time fun? If you haven’t heard of Jaclyn Hill, where have you been? She is super adorable and so much fun, she’s a Makeup artist that posts You Tube videos. I’m addicted to her videos! I find myself watching and realizing hours have passed by just watching you tube videos. This is the palette Jaclyn’s been working on for 2 years with Morphe. It is Beautiful! If you’ve ever used Morphe eyeshadows you know they are extremely pigmented and blend well but they also are affordable for what you get. Well Jaclyn’s new palette launched and was sold out in less than 1 hour! I was lucky enough too snag one for myself. The colors are soooo rich, beautiful and blend amazingly well. If you ask me, this blows all other Morphe palettes completely out of the water!!! Of course it’s one of my June faves!!!

Let’s talk about the all new Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette! I’m not normally a fan of Urban Decay eyeshadows. They don’t show up well on my skin tone and there are just so many other amazing shadows that I just didn’t bother with them… until THIS! Omg this palette is AMAZING!!!! The colors are perfect for summer or  fall, these colors are extremely pigmented and unlike any other Urban Decay eyeshadow I’ve ever tried! These shadows are buttery smooth and glide on perfectly to give you that glam evening look or you can even go light for daytime looks with these colors. As much as I love Morphe (which I still really love don’t get me wrong), I feel like i’ve found my all time favorite palette for summer nights with the Naked Heat!!!!

Oh let’s start with my favorite new item I’ve been obsessed with all month long! Loreal Lash Paradise Mascara in Blackest Black. Listen, it’s only $8-10 and Holy Moly is this mascara phenomenal! It volumizes my lashes so much, it looks like I have 10 times more lashes than I really do with this mascara alone. This mascara doesn’t flake throughout the day or smudge all over my undereye area. It also gives a little curl to  my lashes. You can’t get any better for such a small price. Some compare this mascara to the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara which runs $23, but let’s just say I wasn’t a fan of Better Than Sex mascara. I can’t say this is comparable since Loreal blows Too Faced out of the water!!!

My newest obsession… It Cosmetics Sunshine in a Compact Vitality Anti-Aging Matte bronzer!!!! It might look orange toned but it doesn’t go on orange at all. It gives my skin the perfect sun kissed look I aim for these summer days. I am pleasantly surprised that it doesn’t fade away and lasts throughout my day!

Highlighters… OMG I am OBSESSED and beyond ADDICTED to them!!! You can never have too many highlighters. Just don’t tell my husband about my stash! These two are my favorites even though I reach for others at times, these two are the perfect combination. Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter are so pretty on. You can use these with your foundation for a dewy look or just use them as a highlighter. One little drop goes a long way. Combine the Dew Drops with Tarte Spellbound Glow Rainbow Highlighter and you will have the perfect glow to your skin! The Tarte Highlighter looks a little strange but when you swirl your brush around the pan, the glow on your skin is absolute perfection!!! I’ve found using a liquid highlighter as a base before powder helps keep my glow last  all day and it really pops.

Nars The Multiple, I use the color Orgasm because who doesn’t love an orgasm?!?! This can be used on the lips, eyes, cheeks and body. I use this on my cheeks and it’s so pretty and natural. It’s a dream to rub on the cheeks and then I just use a blush brush to spread it on my cheekbones. I’m hooked!!! A little goes a long way and this is has the perfect amount of shimmer. No worries about being a glitter bomb because this is subtle and natural looking.

Oh now my favorite topic of all, concealer. Who loves having dark circles under their eyes? NOBODY! Tarte Tape Shape is the best concealer I’ve ever used. It lasts all day without creasing and has the perfect applicator. If you haven’t tried Tape Shape, you better get on it now and you can thank me later. A little goes a long way with this concealer which I love. I hate spending hours putting makeup on, I want to finish it quick and get out of the house. That’s why I love this concealer.

Now onto some skincare products. These aren’t as much fun as make-up but you have to take care of your skin if you want your make-up to apply nicely. I came across It Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup by accident one day and it’s been a match made in heaven since. Let me just tell you, this is a 3-in-1 makeup melting cleansing balm. It’s not oily, a little bit goes a long way and gets your face clean where you don’t need a separate cleanser.  I used to love the Clinique take the day off until I tried It bye bye makeup and I will never ever go back. I just rub a tiny amount into my hands and then rub it all over my face to remove my make-up, then rinse with water and I’m good to go. Easy Peasy!

One of my favorite authors introduced me to Josie Moran 100% Pure Argan Oil and Kopari Lip Love. At first I didn’t love either of them but I just had to give them a chance. I have awfully dry skin that flakes and sometimes feels so raw that it burns. The last few weeks I’ve been in love with Josie Moran Argan Oil. This can be used on your hair as well and is amazing for dry skin.  It’s definitely a keeper! The Kopari Lip Love is a coconut flavored lip balm. The coconut flavor is not overpowering at all. It’s light and makes me think of the beach. Just make sure to use a tiny bit because a little of this goes a long way.  I used to love the Jack Black lip balm until I figured out I need to use only a little Kopari Lip Love and my lips feel smooth for hours on end. Say goodbye to dry lips with Kopari Lip Love!!!

Who doesn’t love a little Vitamin C! Vitamin C does the skin good. Trust me! It might be overkill but it’s been a game changer for my skin while using both Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum and Sunday Riley C.E.O. C+E Antioxidant Protect + Repair Moisturizer. These two combined have helped my skin become incredibly smooth, soft and have even worked to clear acne scars. My skin used to feel so tight and dry to the point it burned. My skin tends to do well with new products and then goes back to the dry flaking again. So far I’m good with this combo and will continue to use them for as long as possible.  Can’t forget that Vitamin C is also wonderful to fight against the signs of aging. I’m all over that!!!

Now tell us in the comments below  what your favorite make-up and skincare products are for June.  We want to know!!!
